Story of the company in brief

The 100% exclusive owner of BME ITS Plc –hereunder: BME ITS–is the Budapest University of Technology and Economics. Its foundation was initiated by the Council of the Faculty of Transportation Engineering and Vehicle Engineering, and following its registration the fundatorial rights were passed to the dean of the Faculty of Transportation Engineering and Vehicle Engineering.

The founding of BME ITS was approved by the senate assembly of BME in April 2013. Prior to its registration at the Court of Registration in December 2013 it was approved by the Ministry of National Development as the holder of fundatorial rights of the university.

BME ITS was founded with a triple aim; primarily to enable BME to take part as expert in as many research & development projects as possible; secondly to help utilize the intellectual products of the university, and furthermore in accordance with the profile of the founding faculty, to enable the staff of the faculty (lecturers, researchers) to participate in as many railway activities as possible.

As BME ITS carries out consultancy and conformity assessment activities as well, it performs its conformity assistance activities in line with the conformity assessment and quality management standards regulations through a totally independent Conformity Assistance Division–hereunder Organization–which is headed by an independent executive manager.

The activities of the Organization cover the certifying of technical specifications for the interoperability of railway systems and compliance with the national specialities.
